pretend that the bed is a pirate bed or something similar.its night time on boat
.so snuggle down. Then read a special story chosen by the pirate. If children are older changing the furniture sometimes helps. Let the child help.

I think one of my families is interested in starting a support group and it is something that I have been wanting to do for ages. I haven't had the time!! Maybe now is the time, would you be interested?

Hi Narelle,

I started a support group on Facebook around 3 years ago for parents of children with an Autism Spectrum Disorder. I realise your child doesn't have this diagnosis however many children with an A.S.D. also have ADD or ADHD. I welcome you to join our support group with a view to getting to know other parents whose children have ADHD and possibly starting a seperate group. You can find us on Facebook under: Central Coast A.S.D. Support Group. We now have 270+ members and growing and have many Documents loaded onto the site to read through as well as all the varied and interesting posts on our Wall page.

What perfect timing your article is! I'm sure i'm not the only one who had kids who just couldn't sleep last night due to the excitement of school this week. i don't know how many times i said to all three of mine to just 'GO BACK TO BED'. I'm not sure why they think coming and telling me they can't sleep will help, or what I could do about it. My 8 year old suggested maybe watching tv could help…and of course there was no chance of that happening. Eventually by about 10pm they were all asleep. Fingers crossed there is no repeat performance tonight, but if so, I’ll be testing out your tips above!

I have 2 preteen boys and we are a blended family from the moment my step sons dad and I started dating, he had a serious problem and still does and he constantly jabs my son even if my son wasn't even talking to him he teases my son about his stuttering when is enough, enough? Whats the proper way to handle this ? Im afraid of this killing the little bit of self confidence that my son has left
